YDJ-600 Instruction Manual for Model Laser Pointer

I. Overview

1. Product Features

The YDJ standard laser pointer is an instrument that integrates electronics, optics, and precision mechanics. It features an aesthetically pleasing design, compact size, and lightweight construction. The instrument can be mounted on a tripod or quickly secured to an anchor bolt using a suspension assembly. It allows for coarse adjustment over a 360° range and fine adjustment with high accuracy; adjustment is convenient, and the braking mechanism is reliable. The product incorporates a self-developed optical system and supports both red and green light sources, with beam spot size and effective range tailored to meet the requirements of underground mining operations. Powered by a lithium-ion battery, the instrument can operate while being charged, and it also accepts wide-range AC power from 80 V to 245 V, with built-in protection features.

2. Implementation Standards

Q/HGY22-2017 Enterprise Technical Specifications

3. Main Uses and Scope of Application

The instrument is primarily used in non-explosive gas environments during underground roadway mining to provide precise midline positioning for the installation of transport pipelines, conveyor belts, ventilation ducts, water pipes, and cable laying. It can also ensure straight-line alignment for tunneling operations in subways, highways, railways, bridges, tunnels, culverts, oil pipelines, and drainage projects.

4. Operating Environment

Atmospheric pressure: 86 kPa to 110 kPa

Ambient temperature: -20°C to +40°C

Relative air humidity: ≤95% RH (at +25°C)

In an environment free of gases or vapors that would visibly degrade the insulation

Pollution Level: Level 3

II. Structural Features and Operating Principle

1. Structural Features:

The instrument integrates the power supply module, optics, and precision mechanics into a single unit, featuring an aesthetically pleasing appearance, compact size, and lightweight construction.

The instrument features a 360° rotatable locking mechanism for coarse adjustment, and is mounted using either a tripod or a fixed rod with a suspension assembly locking device, enabling more convenient and rapid instrument fixation. Additionally, a fine-adjustment mechanism allows for precise lateral and longitudinal adjustments within a range of no less than ±1.5°.

2. Operating Principle:

The instrument is equipped with a rechargeable battery, which is charged by a power-supply module that converts AC to DC. The battery then powers the laser diode to generate a laser beam, which is further collimated and directed over long distances by an optical system, achieving a maximum range of 600 meters.

III. Basic Parameters and Performance Requirements

1. Basic Parameters:

Installation method: suspended, tripod-mounted

Laser pointer operating mode: continuous operation

Supply voltage: 3.7V

Operating current: ≤90 mA

Dimensions: 300 mm × 150 mm × 50 mm

Weight: 1.8 kg

2. Performance Requirements:

The YDJ-600 laser pointer has a maximum effective range of 600 m; at 300 m, the spot diameter shall not exceed 40 mm, and the spot drift shall not exceed 10 mm.

Coarse horizontal and vertical adjustment of the laser pointer: arbitrary within 360°;

Lateral and longitudinal adjustment range of the fine-tuning mechanism: not less than ±1.5°

Optical power: not greater than 15 mW

3. Other functions:

The instrument is equipped with a level, and the deviation angle between the level and the laser beam shall not exceed 0.5 degrees.

The instrument is equipped with a universal, adjustable laser rangefinding interface, allowing a laser rangefinder to be mounted on the pointing device for convenient distance measurement.

1. Installation

Directly mount the instrument to the tripod using the mounting holes on the base.

2. Adjustment and Use

Power Connection: Simply press the power switch to turn on the device. If the battery is depleted, connect the unit to an AC power source ranging from 80 V to 245 V to charge the battery while it operates.

(1) Perform coarse adjustments in the vertical and horizontal directions of the instrument as required by the instrument’s aiming direction.

Vertical coarse adjustment: Loosen the set screw, rotate the instrument along the anchor bolt to align the laser beam in the vertical direction to the desired position (at the mid-chest line), then tighten the set screw.

Horizontal coarse adjustment: Loosen the bolt, slide the instrument along the mounting rod to align the laser beam horizontally to the desired position (at the midline), then tighten the bolt.

(2) Then, precisely adjust the direction of the laser beam according to the project requirements, as follows:

Horizontal adjustment: First lock the vertical adjustment screw, then loosen the horizontal adjustment screw. Slowly move the adjustment lever to rotate it horizontally, and once the desired position is achieved, tighten the screw again.

Vertical adjustment: First tighten the horizontal adjustment screw, then loosen the vertical adjustment screw. Slowly move the adjustment lever to rotate it in the vertical direction, and once the desired adjustment is achieved, tighten the screw.

Please note: After the spot has been accurately adjusted in both the horizontal and vertical directions, the adjustment screws must be locked simultaneously. The instrument is factory-calibrated to ensure the spot remains within the specified range, so no on-site adjustment is required by the user. If adjustment is nevertheless necessary, please follow the procedures outlined in the troubleshooting section.

V. Safety Warnings

1. Do not look directly at the light-emitting window!

2. Absolutely no opening while energized!

VI. Maintenance, Servicing, and Precautions

1. When the instrument is not used for an extended period, it should be stored in a dry, non-corrosive environment.

2. The optical system is calibrated before the instrument leaves the factory; do not disassemble it arbitrarily. During transportation, handle with care to avoid severe vibration.

3. The instrument shall be operated at the specified input power voltage, and both internal and external grounding must be reliable.

4. Live maintenance is prohibited; when it is necessary to open the enclosure for maintenance, such work must be carried out in a safe location.

5. The window glass of the laser output aperture should be regularly wiped with lens paper or a soft cloth to ensure the surface is clean and free of dust.

6. During maintenance and repair, the instrument must never be opened while energized; the flameproof surfaces must never be damaged; and the models, specifications, or parameters of components must not be altered at will. Measures must be taken to prevent loss of explosion-proof integrity (e.g., avoid damaging the flameproof surfaces, ensure that the fasteners on the junction box cover are securely tightened, do not lose the sealing rings in the cable entry devices, and properly tighten the compression screws). When installing the flameproof surfaces, apply anti-rust oil, verify that the adjustment mechanisms operate smoothly and that locking is reliable, inspect the sealing-ring fasteners, and replace any damaged parts promptly.

VII. Fault Analysis and Troubleshooting

If the instrument is not functioning, please check it according to the table below. If the instrument still does not operate properly after inspection, please contact a service center or the manufacturer.

VIII. Maintenance Services

1. In principle, product repairs shall be carried out by the product manufacturer. If the product is repaired by the user, the repair provider must have the necessary inspection and testing facilities, and, upon obtaining the product manufacturer’s consent, shall assume all responsibilities arising from the repair.

2. Starting from the date of invoice issuance, the instrument is covered by a 12-month warranty and eligible for lifetime repair and calibration services.

3. During the warranty period, any component damage caused by manufacturing defects will be replaced free of charge.

4. During the warranty period, any damage not caused by product quality issues shall be subject to appropriate charges.
