Instruction Manual for the QCJ-2000 Model (New Version) Digital Integrator

I. Uses

The QCJ-2000 digital planimeter can rapidly measure the area of closed shapes on a plane. It is widely used in agriculture, forestry, geology, exploration, water resources management, urban planning, land surveys, and other fields, serving as a common instrument for engineering and technical personnel engaged in scientific research, production guidance, and area measurement.

II. Technical Specifications

1. Measurement range: graphics with a width of 300 mm and unlimited length

2. Relative error: ±0.2%

3. Data Storage: 99 data records, non-volatile

4. Data Transmission: USB Upload

5. Power Supply: 1.5 Ah Rechargeable Lithium Battery

6. External dimensions: 248.5 mm × 160.1 mm × 32.6 mm

7. Weight: 0.716 kg

III. Characteristics

1. Scale setting is saved even after power loss.

2. Unit settings are retained even after power loss.

3. The area on the map and the corresponding actual area after scaling are displayed simultaneously.

4. After the measurement is completed, the display can be switched to show results in different units.

5. Automatic calculation of cumulative and average values (up to 99 data sets).

6. Measurement data can be stored and viewed locally, or uploaded via USB to a serial-terminal application.

IV. Structure

V. Instructions for Use

1. Mark the starting point on the area to be measured.

2. Press and hold the “Power/Back” button for approximately 2 seconds to turn on the instrument; upon power-up, the instrument will automatically enter the measurement-ready screen. K represents the scale factor, and C represents the number of measurements.

3. Align the sight’s front and rear sights with the starting point, ensuring as much as possible that the roller axis is perpendicular to the sighting arm.

4. Press the “Confirm” key. After hearing a “beep,” the instrument will enter measurement mode. At this point, hold the sight ring and gently drag the instrument, ensuring that the crosshair remains aligned with the contour of the area to be measured at all times; avoid lifting the sight upward. During measurement, pressing the “Return” key will cancel the current measurement. Once the crosshair returns to the starting point, keep the instrument stationary and press the “Confirm” key to complete the measurement. The display will show the values for “Area on Map,” “Actual Area,” “Average Area,” and “Total Area.” The top of the screen displays the number of measurements, C. A long press of the “Confirm” key saves the currently displayed actual area value (the storage sequence number will be shown at the top of the screen). A short press of the “Down” key changes the display unit, while a long press of the “Up” key clears the previously measured data.

5. Return to the main menu, then select the “View” menu to view and clear the saved data. You can also upload the data to a computer’s serial terminal via USB, using the following serial port settings: 115200 bps, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.

6. In the main menu, select “Settings” to configure the scale, measurement units, and auto-shutdown delay time. During setup, use the “Up” key to adjust the value and the “Down” key to move the cursor; finally, press the “Confirm” key to save the changes.

VI. Precautions

1. Do not store the instrument in a high-temperature, humid environment.

2. The instrument should be handled with care to avoid severe impacts that could damage the sensor and other components.

3. When the instrument is stored for an extended period, charge the battery once every 60 days to prevent battery damage.

VII. Packing List

1. One QCJ-2000 planimeter.

2. One charger.

3. One instruction manual.

4. One certificate of conformity.
